ANXIETY THERAPY IN ARVADA, CO
For Professionals Who Look Fine - But Feel Constantly On Edge
Are your anxious thoughts running the show?
Your mind won’t shut off. You second guess yourself.
Maybe you lie awake at night mentally preparing for the worst-case scenario or perhaps after a party you have severe post replay, picking yourself apart “I’m such an idiot, why did I say that?”
At work you put off important anxiety-provoking tasks or when you do complete a project it has to be perfect, or you feel like a failure.
You worry you’re “weak “or “crazy” because you can’t get your anxiety under control.
You’re noticing anxiety’s impact on every aspect of your life.
Holding yourself back from the things you want to do
Not going for that promotion if it means exposing yourself to criticism or feedback
Jumping from unfinished project to unfinished project when self-doubt creeps in
Relying on alcohol, overwork or other problematic behaviors to cope
You Look Fine. Inside, You’re Exhausted.
Sure you might look calm on the outside - but inside, you’re wound up tighter than a rubber band and your mind never stops.
And the worst part?
You tell yourself, “I should be able to handle this.”
You’ve always been capable. Responsible. It’s your job to figure things out!
But you’re exhausted…and nothing you’ve tried seems to work.
What if you didn’t have to be at odds with your anxiety any longer?
Anxiety Therapy Can Help
It may not feel like it right now, but anxiety doesn’t have to be in the driver’s seat.
You can have a more calm and balanced mind. You can feel more confident in dealing with your anxiety. You can have a new relationship with your anxiety.
And I can help you get there.
How anxiety therapy works:
First we understand the cause of your anxiety, anxiety’s impact on your life and the triggers for your anxiety.
Then I’ll teach you the skills to help you feel steady as you slowly become more familiar with your anxiety and what it is trying to do for you. Gaining the skills and insight to start to change your relationship with anxiety and feel more in control and hopeful.
Working together to gain the confidence to use what you’ve learned in real time, while addressing any blocks that arise so you can make choices based on your values and not fear.
You’re not your anxious thoughts. Anxiety is part of the brain’s survival system and a necessary human emotion - it’s not a flaw.
We can’t get rid of anxiety, nor would we want to, but we can have a different relationship with it. One where anxiety is no longer in the driver’s seat, but a useful passenger along for the ride.
imagine a life where…
You no longer avoid your anxiety and the parts of your life that come with it.
But are living fully and striding boldly towards the life you desire.
You confidently deal with triggers for your anxiety.
Responding vs reacting to your thoughts for a calm, balanced state of mind without contributing to higher levels of anxiety.
You understand the purpose your anxiety has served in the past, but you know it’s not your identity.
While reclaiming your sense of safety, connection and overall well-being.

Common questions about anxiety therapy
-
First we get curious about how anxiety is showing up - in your thoughts, emotions, sensations & behavior.
Next, giving you evidenced based tools and practices that address not just thoughts, but behaviors and the emotional impact of anxiety.
Lastly, working together to integrate the tools so that they become second nature and you feel more confident to handle anxiety moving forward.
-
This varies from person to person. While my goal is that you begin gaining insight & skills that can be implemented early on in therapy, the length of time it takes to notice significant change varies depending on your circumstances.
I work with most of my clients for at least 6 months, but we’ll discuss what this looks like for you individually, checking in regularly on your progress.
-
I start out seeing clients weekly anywhere from 16-20 sessions. As our work progresses, we will discover if we can move to a less frequent schedule, say every other week. Again, everyone’s situation is different, and you will have an individualized plan.
-
We begin with a free 15-minute consultation call. We’ll talk about what’s happening, what you’re hoping for, and whether working together feels right.
If it does, we schedule your first session.
If it doesn’t, I’m happy to help you find someone who’s a better fit.
